This beautiful, one of a kind, Candy opal keycap is sure to bring a sweet and unique feel to your keyboard. Handmade, cut, and locally gathered, from a specimen of Utah bubble opal. Keycap Fits Cherry MX style switches and any clones.
Candy opal gets its name from the bright contrast of purples, reds, and milky whites along with layers of clear inbetween. The 1000s of layers in this keycap give it a unique look that is reminiscent of candy being pulled on a hook. Keycap is highly polished and when backlit the light climbs up the layers of color. With a simple single faceted cushion cut design this keycap will impress anybody who sees it.
Candy opal, also known as wildfire, bacon, or bubble opal, was formed around 19,000 years ago. It is only found in one place in the whole world–outside of Milford, Utah at the base of the aptly named Mineral Mountains. The beautiful opal is composed primarily of silica; however, there are a variety of minerals throughout the opal that are responsible for the vibrant coloration. To really appreciate the beauty of this stone you need to see it in real life. The bubble opal I use in my keycaps was gathered by hand from the earth, then hand cut and polished for you.
This Keycap Is medium profile, while still being practical. It was designed to be placed and fit onto backspace but also functions as a left shift keycap.
